Conference dates: October 26th-28th, 2021

Quartex is delighted to announce that we will be presenting live at Internet Librarian Connect 2021, which takes place virtually on October 26-28.

Katie Gambone will lead a discussion with Alex Cherian, Television Archivist at Bay Area TV Archive, on Wednesday, October 27 at 15:00 ET, focusing on the hosting and accessibility concerns facing repositories and institutions with large A/V collections and revealing how Quartex's A/V Pilot Project is working to resolve these issues and shine a long overdue light on these often untapped resources.

You can also join Katie and Jessica Kowalski at our virtual booth event for a chat and Quartex platform showcase on Wednesday, October 27 at 11:00 ET.

A/V Collections: Community Partnership & Platform Development

Audio visual collections represent a number of unique challenges for archivists who want to make these assets available and accessible for all researchers. Costs for hosting this content, providing accurate transcripts and closed captioning, embedding, security, and access controls are just a few of the considerations a repository must navigate.

Hear how one vendor is partnering with repositories through an A/V Pilot Project to enhance and further develop A/V capabilities in their digital collections platform. Learn how the A/V Pilot Project came to be, along with the goals and objectives of the project. Get insights from participating repositories, highlighting how their feedback in the A/V Pilot Project helps ensure the platform is developed to meet the needs of the broader community.
