Join our session at Computers in Libraries (CIL) 2022, in Arlington, VA!

Ashley Todd-Diaz, Assistant University Librarian at the Albert S. Cook Library at Towson University joins Katie Gambone from Quartex for:

Amplifying the reach of AV and Digital Collections Across Campus

New technology creates new opportunities for engagement. In 2020, the Albert S. Cook Library at Towson University relaunched its digital collections on the Quartex platform. This move primarily allowed the library to:

  • fulfil its commitment to digital inclusion and making special collections and archives materials accessible to as broad a demographic of users as possible,
  • provide additional access points into and context on their digital collections using collection landing pages, digital exhibits, wikis and more, and
  • host and showcase AV Collections.

The enhanced capabilities for AV collections offered some unexpected secondary benefits as well. Following the relaunch, library staff leveraged Quartex to broaden their impact and support to other departments across campus with AV materials, including University Marketing and Athletics. This represents a new opportunity for the library and streamlined support for digital collections across campus.

At the end of this session, participants will understand how to deepen their impact by creating partnerships across their community and identify ways to garner support for digital collections from multiple partners. The session will also address the Library’s partnership with its vendor, Quartex, to enhance and further develop AV capabilities in Quartex based on the needs of the Towson community.

Stay tuned to discover more about the session, including date and time, and further opportunities to talk to the presenters.
