Archives and Special Collections has always been a passion of mine. Having served as a Project Archivist and consultant on a number of digitization projects, I have truly come to appreciate how primary resource collections give us a unique glimpse into people’s lives and a snapshot into history. Having processed many interesting and varied collections, a concern of mine was often – “How can I make sure I’m not the last person to find this amazing letter, diary, doodle, lock of hair – you name it?!” Finding aids and metadata can create amazing access points to primary resource collections, but when I learned about the Quartex platform’s functionality and all the ways one can increase discoverability of digitized special collections and archival content – I realized I may have found a solution to my concerns. It is my absolute pleasure to be representing Quartex and to be working with repositories that are looking for a digital collections platform. Learning about each institution’s digitized primary resources is both fun and interesting. Being able to help them think through ways to showcase that content is just the icing on the cake.
I am based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I live with my husband, our two kiddos, and my giant dog who makes a fantastic office-mate when I work remotely. When I am not proselytizing about Quartex, I am playing with my kids, running, reading books, playing bocce, eating delicious food, traveling and enjoying life!
